Who Is Maura?

 

 

 

I am a blessed woman!  I have a wonderful husband and four beautiful children.  I am a faith-filled outdoor enthusiast that loves helping others get stronger and healthier.  I believe that we were given our bodies as a gift and it is our privilege to take care of them, push them and love them no matter the size.  

I love spin classes, cheesecake, naps, jokes and fun eyeglasses.

 

Background

I grew up in Minnesota’s Twin Cities area, where I earned degrees in Psychology, Kinesiology and Dietetics. Although I was always fascinated with the health field, I fell in love with it in college, when I went through treatment for an eating disorder.  Ever since then, I have not stopped learning about nutrition and exercise.

I became a personal trainer in the mid 1990's at the YWCA of St. Paul.

I am currently a trainer online and work out of two local gyms in the Grand Rapids area.

What is the difference between online personal training vs. in person training

Online Training is affordable, convenient, motivating, keeps you accountable and you get to be in constant communication with me.

 

I can just get a free workout online, right?

Of course you can.  But it may not be the right workout for you.  I customize your program for your lifestyle, what you have access to, what you enjoy, what your goals are, what your limitations are, when you are traveling and on and on.   You are given modifications and new things to keep you excited and on track.  

 

What is the cost?

Depending on what you are looking for, the prices run from 

$175+ per month for one-on-one training and $125 for a 10 week group training. Group training is based on 3 workouts per week that will be provided my me, along with recipes, education and accountability.  Individualized online personal training is tailored to each person where they are at and goal driven by the client.

 

Are you accepting any more online training clients at this time?

What equipment do I need? 

My personal training services don't require any fancy equipment – I will work with whatever you have, whether it is resistance bands, dumbbells, kettlebells or just your own body weight! I will help you reach your fitness goals through creative and challenging workouts that use your own body to create resistance.
